AAEE is Australia’s peak professional body for environmental educators
AAEE advocates for environmental education and promotes best practice. It contributes to skills development among educators across the country and internationally.
Environmental educators work in government agencies, schools, businesses and community organisations. AAEE helps them stay at the forefront of sustainability education and behaviour change. It provides a network for the growing network of cross-sector environmental educators. There are approximately 550 members throughout Australia with an executive of 12 members. The National Executive is drawn from at least 4 States and Chapters.
Main Focus
- AAEE exist to provide a forum for the Australian community to share their knowledge and expertise. It also serves to represent environmental educators discussions, debates and recommendations to issues and directions for a sustainable future.
- AAEE includes a number of Special Interest Groups (SIG's) for members: Teacher and Teacher Educator; Early Childhood; Decade of Education for Sustainable Development; Research student and early career researcher.
- AAEE has professional links with similar associations and we ensure a positive, cooperative and inclusive framework for change through education.
