National ENSI work
ENSI Switzerland is part of the society supporting the implementation and consolidation of Education for Sustainable Development in Switzerland (education21), the national centre of excellence in this area. This organisation plays a crucial role in the development and implementation of the strategic plan for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in Switzerland which focuses on curriculum development, teacher training and quality improvements of schools.
Joining the forces of ENSI and education21 produces tangible gains with regard to border crossing exchange of excellence. ENSI is a vibrant international network which cooperates with key players worldwide and enables the Foundation to participate and link into the international discussions and developments. On the other hand ENSI benefits from the national networking of the Foundation and can rely on a strong national institution. This win-win situation allows both organisations to initiate innovation, share knowledge and develop projects appropriate to the Swiss national context.
ENSI Switzerland is also an official partner of the Schweizerischen Konferenz der kantonalen Erziehungsdirektoren EDK/ Conférence Suisse des directeurs cantonaux de l'instruction publique CDIP. The main area of responsibility is the transfer of information on international developments and the participation in working groups on ESD.
ENSI is leading several international projects in the context of EU’s LLL-programme in Switzerland. Supporting schools in their international cooperation with partners from abroad is an other strong point of ENSI Switzerland.
